Biblical truth... and nothing else ... thats what you say
11 years ago the wife and I spent a year in Appalachia . Many of the country roads where we lived seemed to have more "churches" than homes and I often wondered who attended all these little parrishes .
Alvin was a neighbor in that he lived on the same mountain as us and as a hardcore Baptist often tried to get us to attend the next Revival at his church. Alvin had some interesting comments for a man so devout in his " Christian " faith and he wasn't alone in using them. He couldn't hide his glee when New Orleans got whacked by Hurricane Katrina for instance
" God just reached on down and gave a bunch a smackin that had a smackin coming " is what he was happy to proclaim. For all his devout belief Alvin had a lot of hate in his heart.... as did most that lived on that mountain just south of the Tenn. border .
Intense hatred for blacks was a given and I found that odd as I never saw a black living within 150 miles... the fact I was a Yankee was forgiven as I had some desired skills in the area at the time and as my Colombian wife looked "white" she was OK too....otherwise.... ?
Point of all this Sam is the Baptist Church ... in my eye.. offers more than "Biblical Truth" ....
... it offers hatred even though that is "technically" against the word of God.
You and I have had a go around about my not being able to purchase a six pack after a hurricane and you accused me of being an alcoholic here on a public forum that you now defend the use of wine. And you accused me of being alcoholic because you hate me for having an opposing viewpoint.....
.... how very "Baptist " of you
Biblical truth.... and nothing else ..... "Dos Caras tienne usted"
