Bump stock ban begins today

The ban begins today 3/26. While this has been discussed previously here and most all of us are in agreeance on "don't own one, don't want one, don't see the need in one" the fact remains that they were deemed legal by the BATF, people bought them in good faith, no compensation is being offered and not even an apology from the feds on screwing up. Some sellers on GB and other sites were trying to sell these up till very recently. I suppose they are left holding the bag as well in regard to no compensation.

Now if something like this can happen while a president like Trump is in office think how much worse things could be with a democrat. Is communism here already? Makes you wonder what else can be deemed illegal and stolen by the government.

This is for buying a LEGAL stock and just a stock. I believe a lot of murderers are freed after about 7 years but owning a piece of plastic that our government said was OK to buy will make you a real felon.

That was my only opposition to the way the law was written. No just compensation and no provisions for grandfathered ownership even with registration and tax stamp.

Not enough owners to get a lawsuit moving within the system. The genie is out and setting a precedence. Not until Americans someday discover they are instant felons for owning an operable old fossil fueled car or perhaps too many kitchen knives will people see what is wrong.

A friend of mine bought a street sweeper shotgun when they first came out. Initially anyone could buy one. Later the BATF claimed that because the bore had no choke it was the same as having a "scatter gun" or a shotgun with the barrel sawed off. They forced everyone to register them or become instant felons and my friend said that is exactly how he felt upon the correspondence he had with them. This is a case where those bought in good faith should have been grandfathered but wasn't. At least the owners could keep and/or sell them.
