I know of another fellow, a brand new second lieutenant just in country a week or so, Was constantly playing with his M-16 selector switch flipping to all positions- Well there was an order out at one time that if the gun was put on safe after firing full auto to be careful when you operated the selector- Well you guessed it, flipped the rifle to safe and shot himself in the foot, Got himself in very deep water but he avoided court martial because of the safety directive and his rifle was so old and never serviced !
