There was a hullabaloo about THAT word a few years back. "Niggardly" is of Norse origin, and means "miserly." It has nothing to do with race! But that didn't stop the media from raising a stink.

Allen, the word negro in English was derived from Spanish where it is spelled the same and pronounced nay_GROW while rolling the r. It simply means black. Hence the Crayola's marked negro, blanco, rojo, verde etc. Its a Spanish language set.

Remember the licorice gumdrop candy called Black Crows? When they reintroduced it to the market the had to skip the 'black' part in the labelling. Didn't change the color though.
IIRC, that was around the time they were calling Disney's Dumbo racist for the way the talking crows sounded.

What and no excuse to rape, pillage and burn? Complaining is the National Socialist way of expression, just look at Togor! "They" complain and then "demand" that their "Democracy" come to "their" aid. I have often wondered why there is so much sin and socialists in the world. Get rid of either one and the world would be more tolerable. "Hark" is that Togor coming up with his quick wit? Can't be, his mother's maiden name what Wit so I guess that makes him only half!

I have a couple of responses for people like that -- if someone says something like, "Don't you mean personkind?" I say, "Are you correcting me? How insufferably rude."
