I don't see Iran, NK, Pakistan and others being modified for the good of mankind. They've been a menace to the world for many decades. Others, like Turkey are turning for the worse now too. Wipe out their governments and you've killed the snake.

      no you haven't,

can't kill a belief system or idea , which is what those countries run on,

we 'won' in Afghanistan, but the taliban is still there, and will always be until the locals want it to go away,
even if we kill them all, it, like a weed, will come back

We killed Nazism, didn't we? We killed Bushido. We killed slavery. We killed the feudal system in this country. The people of Mexico no longer rip out the hearts of captives atop pyramids.

I'm starting to wonder if the lessons of the Vietnam War are lost on some of it's aging participants.

Well.... this forces the question Vern .... if we killed Nazism... why do so many here waste their time accusing non Nazis of being Nazi.... while claiming Nazi flag wavers "are good people"

And... you yourself happily collect a lifetime pension for going overseas to "kill communism" .... if you had succeeded we wouldn't be mentioning this would we .... ??

                really,

we still have Nazi's in the world, they may not amount to much but the ideals are still there, (not counting those you and a few others call Nazi's)

                Bushido,

betting that is alive and well in the Yakuza

Togor is probably salivating about a post on Feudal systems, and in this country,, maybe, world wide,, doubt it,,

Aztec's just morphed into Chicagoan's, with different weapons

One does not have to do anything overtly just the reverse covertly. With Iran just let them know that our CAP will "slow" down with extreme prejudice any type of naval craft that ventures forth in any way, shape or form. An act of war, no just an act of defense. If a snake is coming towards you does one want to see the intent? Just let them know we will do something, let them guess what. Give the military free will to protect self and then back them up. "Hark" is that Togey coming in with "butt, butt" something he should be sitting on!
