MSN has a miniscule audience compared to the all those watching the morning & evening news & public interest programs & series like 60 Minutes, 20-20, etc, on ABC, CBS, NBC. The consistently left-wing slant given to news stories by the latter therefore has a much greater influence on public opinion. What's more, MSN doesn't really even pretend to be an objective, non-partisan, news source, whereas the Big Three always declare piously that they are totally fair & objective, have no axe to grind against Conservatives, etc--a more monstrous lie & hypocrisy was never conceived.Comment

Yes it does, when you presume to discuss how public opinion is shaped in this country--because the majority of the population ARE sucking up cable TV by the hour, & forming opinions based on what they're seeing & hearing.
Enough??? Further proof of how little you know about the subject, if you believe homos have been subject to ANY detrimental commentary by the media within the last 50 yrs. They are consistently CELEBRATED as heroes of freedom, courage, & the American Way by the media! You apparently are mad because they didn't demonize HIV people enough.Last edited by clintonhater; 06-04-2019, 07:07.Comment

I guess I'd need you to furnish me with an example of a AIDS media hero. Shouldn't be so hard if things are as bad as you say. FWIW I think your mistake us to think everyone cares as much as you do about how things are shaped coming out of the tube.
I think it comes down to the spirit of the message. The whole Westboro Baptist treatment seems mean spirited to people. If that fact makes you bitter, then too bad for you I guess.Last edited by togor; 06-04-2019, 07:30.Comment

I don't know of any media heros per AIDS other than young Ryan White. The poor kid got aids from one of his necesary(sp) transfusions. OK, he was a damaged kid, he needed transfusions, but that doesn't let the creeps who give blood off the hook. Young Ryan was at the mercy of a lower tier of voluntary contributors. They can't screen everyone. That's the way it goes in the hemophillic community. So he died. It was a great story, but in the meantime a whole lot of queers, drug addicts and stupid people all over the world died. Give him a silver star.
If it wasn't for war, starvation and pestilence we'd be up to our asses in people.
I miss AIDS.
If, 500 yrs. later there is still life on this planet, I guess I'll be wrong but it will be some other debate or argument and there will be a ton of people on the planet.
And the United States will be unrecogniesable. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

here in RVA, Arthur Ashe,
star tennis player, got it thru a transfusion during surgery, (they think, not seen anything definite, but not sure you could ever prove it true or not, after the fact, not that it truly matters)
he even got a statue on Monument Ave

he even got a statue on Monument Ave

It's obvious: nothing can help them, one famine or other disaster after another (like the civil war started by the Iranian faction in Yemen, who we're told by the bleeding heart media desperately needs food & medical aid, though they won't stop fighting), unless they radically change their irresponsible lifestyles, including breeding behavior.Comment

When I gave blood in 1987 the form clearly stated: "Any man who has sex with another man since 1977 should not give blood." IIRC it was due to Ryan White and Arthur Ashe that they started screening blood for AIDS, both had received transfusions before then, Ashe in 1983, Ryan White in 1984. Neither contracted it due to lifestyle or licentious and irresponsible behavior.
In my Army days 1967-1971 the old practice of punishing those who contracted STDs had been discontinued but those did so expected-and received- no sympathy and the last I knew being a habitual contractor of STDs was grounds for discharge.Comment

Well make up your mind already. People with nothing....f*cking is about the only form of entertainment they have. If it's man on woman you're pissed because they make babies. If it's same-on-same you're pissed because they're doing it wrong. Maybe you should go over there and tell them what you expect them to do.It's obvious: nothing can help them, one famine or other disaster after another (like the civil war started by the Iranian faction in Yemen, who we're told by the bleeding heart media desperately needs food & medical aid, though they won't stop fighting), unless they radically change their irresponsible lifestyles, including breeding behavior.Last edited by togor; 06-05-2019, 03:13.Comment

There are people who say, "You can't support a family on minimum wage." Then don't START a family. Work your way up until you CAN start a family before you take on that obligation.Comment
