Recently in a barber shop, there was a magazine, mostly ads, about fancy guns and year round hunts anywhere in the world. In the back was a column lamenting declining recruitment rates among the next generation of hunters. According to the writer, not enough kids were, believe it nor not, "popping sparrows with BB guns" as part of their introduction to the hunting life. I couldn't believe that.

Apparently in Chicago "hunting" is still in vogue with handguns unfortunately.

I was in the ER once, years ago, for something I cannot remember (likely stitches for a cut) and there was a young male with a 'gunshot wound' in the next stall,

police showed up and interviewed everyone with the kid,

seems the hospital staff reported it, kid and his buddy were shooting pellet rifles and one was stupid enough to shoot the other whilst playing
