The only hurt imposed upon my feelings is that caused by having to endure the liberal poison you bring to this forum.

Notice also that in addition to his propensity for ad hominem arguments, he also considers himself a psychoanalyst!

Actually psychoanalysis is Boggs' department. Three doors down on the left, bring dark chocolate.

No one is expecting you to embrace gays. Just take the slurs somewhere else. Not everyone likes having that stuff on the forum.

And just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's a liberal thing.

Bringing this back to the OP, I guess everyone has a hot button, whether they live in Baltimore or not. In general I think it's better if politicians don't go around pressing them. Trump seems to take a different view, that hot buttons generate excitement and ratings.

Boggs has no edge whatsoever on you in the amateur shrink department. But as for what "everyone likes," or doesn't, on this forum, let's find out what's most unpopular, my "slurs" or your continual aspersions on Trump & other liberal opinions, by holding a plebiscite, conducted over the next 24 hours (or whatever time limit you choose) for the purpose of determining which of us should remain on this forum, & which of us should take his opinions elsewhere. I'll vanish without a murmur if the vote tally goes against me. You previously talked about a "deal"--will you agree to this one?

CH, I've explained my reasoning on not bashing gays with such venom multiple times, and I'll do it again: the odds say forum members will have gay kids or grandkids, and that forum members will have found a way to love and accept these family members. That likely being the case, they don't need your singular bile on this subject. If you don't like this smackdown, too bad.

Multiple reiterations aren't needed, so instead of "doing it again," will you agree to accept my proposal? Which I make not out of confidence in the outcome, since it would be decided by a mere handful of potential voters, who might easily agree with you, not me. I'm QUITE prepared to hit the road; are you?

Is the gay thing really worth someone quitting over? Often we don't agree, but sometimes do, and the exchanges are often interesting. My counter-proposal is that we both draw our horns back for a week or so on this issue and see what happens. Regarding your proposal, I have no doubt I would get clobbered, my old time brand of rational and sensible conservatism being deeply out of fashion these days.

Great advice! If everyone would follow it, this forum would be so much better.

I wish that were true, that this was all a joke. The conservatism of my day left the lunatic fringe to the lefties, because Buckley and the Republicans kicked them out of the movement. These days they're back and nuttier than ever. Balanced budget? Ha, fat chance.
