It has everything to do with holding Humphrey to his own standards. Anyone who doesn't like it can lay their complaint where it belongs, at Humphrey's feet.

Plenty of targets for you besides Red and me, Lyman, if you want to play decorum monitor.

PS: Almost everywhere has Chinese. London is hardly exceptional in this regard.

At least with the influx of many cultures into London, the food has become edible. That trash known as English cuisine was hardly tolerable!

and English food is not horrible, Pub grub and Real Cask Ale are delicious,

the rest,, well,, edible, I guess

Are the English displeased by so many foreigners in London? If so, it's a taste of how others feel at the sight of English showing up uninvited in their lands. Personally I'm OK with a post-Brexit, Little England fading into irrelevance. The world will be a better place if they stick to their island.

I had a contract with the Ministry of Defense. They had a hotel room reserved for me (they paid) and they told me, "Eat the English breakfast. They'll try to tell you that you're only entitled to the Continental breakfast, but the contract we have entitles you to the English breakfast."

The English breakfast would kill at 50 meters!

we were in London in 2008, ate breakfast at the hotel each morning,

                    full English Breaky,

                    Toast
                    jam/butter
                    Heinz Beans (tasty)
                    eggs,
bacon (Streaky American style and Euro kind)
small sausages, (traditional type, not blood sausages type)

she would get a sauteed tomato,

                    fruit was also available

and good hot tea (wife had coffee)

                    it was excellent,

I make a similar breakfast when we have time,

this was at the Crowne St James, Buckingham Gate ,

there were 3 pubs close by,
the Adam and Eve, typical place where a lot of businessmen showed up and had a pint, then left,
another a few blocks away that looked like it had not been remodeled since the 60's (decent,, but not busy)
and the Albert, excellent pub food (can't really mess up fish n chips,,) great cask ale, and a decent wine for the wife (we visited it a few times while there)

no idea, been 11yrs since I was there,

like most American cities, the diversity dropped off a bit once you got into the countryside,

tho there were Indian owned curry shops in every town we visited

The people who deride English food are the people who've not been there.
They just parrot others who haven't been there either.

                        Vern's last comment is juvenile.

Crocodile tears. You've certainly demonstrated the same behavior.

Double it back at you with knobs on it.

I've been there many times -- and the traditional English breakfast is loaded with cholesterol.
