This is one of the reasons I ignore him -- you're from the south, and to him that makes you inferior. He used to sneer at my lack of education -- until he found out I'm better educated than he is.

What is with your fixation on Alabama? Do you know (or assume) that Allen is from there?

After all, we don't bring up Wisconsin out of the blue when replying to a post.

BTW, Doug Jones (D-AL) is most likely an aberration caused by a smear campaign initiated at the last minute, which resulted in enough Republican write-in votes to give the election to Jones (final result Jones 49.97%, Moore 48.34%, Write-in 1.06%). Given the current political demographics of the state it is most likely that Jones will lose his bid for reelection (unless the Democrats pull more dirty tricks).

it is part of the way things go here, unfortunately,

the original 6 (supposedly 3 on each side, as main characters, the R's (proclaimed to be Vernon's Jug band) and the D's (the stooges, led by togor)) have managed to turn just about any thread into a contest of who can outsnark the other,
some know how to push buttons and stay within the rules of this section , some explode into cussing etc, and at one time nazi's were invoked in every other sentence,


I postulated several times that it is the reason this forum (in it's entirety) is as slow as it is,




but you likely already know all that,
