So is the USA becoming a police State?

Not only yes but Hell yes. Officers dispatched to a report of a open door and when they see somebody inside... gun season for innocent citizens is open. A cop stops a car for a for a vehicle infraction and asks the driver for his DL, the guy reaches for his pocket and is shot dead... no gun involved. And then there is this: a shoplifter that stole a belt and a shirt, runs from police, breaks into a strangers house and hides in a bathroom. SWAT is called and they literally destroy a $500,000 home and the home owner is the one who is responsible. His home and his life are destroyed but it is OK, SWAT didn't do anything wrong it is all the homeowners fault.

So the shop lifter fired a shot... how is that the home owners fault? The cops could have just waited 24 hours (or a week) and the guy would have given up. No way!!! My God, why would the cops do something for the innocent owner when they can fook him up for life with no consequence.

Upheld by the Federal Court, the precedent set here is that if your 16 year old kid runs from the cops and hides in his bedroom, it is ok for the cops to bulldoze your house, arguably with you, your wife, and two other kids inside.

Doubly so within 100 miles of the frontier where carte blanche is claimed. A sign of the apocalypse that Red and togor agree?

I see police as society's immune system. Necessary? Yes, absolutely! Hyper-charged at times to the point of attacking healthy tissue? It happens, unfortunately. Not anti-police to point this out.

from what I read earlier, the courts likely ruled as they should,

sounds crazy, but the folks apparently had a bad lawyer, who filed a case he shoulda known he could not win,,,

          foolish, on the lawyer's part,

shame , and yes, the gov should have paid for the repairs

The Liberals/Leftists/Progressives goal IS a police state, they believe the government is ALWAYS right.
Meanwhile we hear of huge awards for violations of civil rights, etc....

That's a lie and you are a liar. RED got over 70 tickets and never drove a truck, I drove Malibu station wagons for 17 years and Ford Crown Vics for 12. In those 29 years I drove over 1.5 million rural miles in the States of MO, IA, IL, KY, TN, AR, and MS in automobiles that bore out of State license plates. Cities like Curryville, MO, Pocahontas AR, West Fork AR, Forest City AR, Dyersburg TN, Cedar Rapids IA, Corydon IA, Foristell MO, Macks Creek MO, Shelby County TN. Southhaven, MS, are famous for their speed traps and places like Mack Creek, and Foristell lost their city charters because of their speed traps. West Fork AR was put out of business when the town was by passed by rerouting US HWY 71.

And NO, you don't have to violate a law to get a ticket in those places.... a out of State plate is all that is needed. Foristell had a population of 350 and issued 3,600 traffic tickets in one year. Google Mack Creeks Law... there are dozens of towns out there that are still in the speed trap business.

Not directly mentioned by Red but possibly worth adding in is the fact that we have become a surveillance state, and to a large extent we've done it to ourselves. Big data, cashless transactions, cheap dash, doorbell, street, nanny or porch cams. And social media!

Why? The man just said I was truck driver with two tickets that hates cops because of that and that is a bald faced lie. Just like your buddy togor tells here every day. I tell the truth and call him out for lying so I’m the bad guy?

Why don’t you tell him to ease up on his lies?

Ok sorry, I guess I did misstated, you didn't drive a truck you drove a car, and got 70 tickets per your own post above, not just 2 . And I'm only going by your past negative statements about cops. Ray
