I have been out of the country and haven't paid any attention to this so called "inquiry" but I heard a lot of weight was to be given to a Army LTC's testimony, he was honorable,decorated,dedicated,impeccable, etc. etc. These are generally true of our military officers (disclosure: I was one) This one I am told by my source was 1. passed over for promotion 2. blocked from being removed from his position as a "security risk" by a Obama appointed superior. 3. Offered or jockeying for the position of Defense Minister to Ukraine ! He was not an unbiased witness. A retired US Army LTC became Defense Minister to Estonia I think under Clinton.

I checked Vendman’s dates of rank with particular interest in when he was promoted to O4 (2008) and O5 (2015) which would have put him at 15 years of total active federal service for promotion to O5. This time in service is quite typical for most officers and is exceeded by those below the grade who are promoted at 14 years. He was obviously not passed over as my son was promoted to O5 in 2017 with 15 years of service and was promoted to intermediate ranks exactly two years after Vendman without being passed over. Now, what it is the next step – some verbiage casting doubts on his CIB, Ranger Tab or the Purple Heart?
