Then there are some who don't understand that this forum leans mostly conservative politically but they continue to push their liberal views in an attempt try to close it down or have it lose viewers.

The firearms related subject areas show almost no enthusiasm anymore. Only the cracker barrel and political b*tching pages show any real juice. I'm putting together another M1903 parts gun on a HN action and a decent SA scant stock I found in my pile. I think I got it from DuPage years ago. I have a HS replacement barrel I'll put on it that may or may not be a take-off but either way looks and gauges about new. I'll post it somewhere when I get it done but not here because no one will see it and if anyone does, no one will give a crap because they've seen a million like it already.

After the 2016 election, I think it was DT who posted a "where's togor?" thread. I think the intent was to have a punching bag to celebrate over. As I said, I was disappointed to see Trump elected--and yes I'm saying a GOP Congress constraining a center left Hillary with both branches following the law would have been in hindsight a better run government--but I wasn't going to whine about it. Nor would I put the Trump blinders on, and I haven't.

So the argument is that togor took on all comers and won? Thereby ruining this forum? If that is true, then maybe that just proves that Trumpism is really is BS after all and useless in a fight.

OR, maybe the racism got out of hand and SysAd had to clamp down. Or, maybe the one guy who likes to call people the worst names he can type has something to do with it. Or maybe Lyman comes along to try to mod this place like other forums, and people decide that learning how to write posts differently isn't worth the payoff. Or maybe after awhile posting memes about Michelle Obama loses its sizzle.

Trump fatigue can't be ruled out. Three years ago it went straight from his Twitter feed to a post here. Not so much anymore. Now no one wants to talk about the way he sucks up to the Saudis for example while their poorly screened military personnel shoot our guys up on their own base.

Major Culver's statement said "The gloves are off! If you can't take it, don't come in!". SysAd amended the first part of that, but the second, to my knowledge, remains in effect. Once upon a time, Conservatives weren't afraid of competition of ideas. A lot of people who came through here over the years, they talk and think like the blue collar Democrats of my youth. They say they are conservative now, but really it's just a tribal affiliation, and they don't have the first clue about what conservatism as a movement is all about.

Damn I miss Geoffrey. He wouldn't have put up with this. I also liked JOTD from BTBM. Things change, I guess.

I was not here much after the 2nd or 3rd hack/reconstruct/whatever, and when I did visit , I surfed a few of the firearms sections and moved on,

too much ranting and raving by a select few ,

at the time I was running a store in the hood, and after dealing with loud obnoxious and sometimes ignorant folk for 10-12hrs a day, reading that crap trying to relax and surf a forum was too much like being back at work

Those holding them, under assault, tend to dig in, and communication ceases and degenerates into a pig wallow. I have read your posts in the other threads; I'm not sure if you have posted about your Springfield build or not because I haven't read the 1903 and M1 forums in a long time. Hillary would have been a boon to this forum. And there is nothing in her bio to suggest she would try to circumvent Congress the way Trump does. From a 2A perspective, don't forget what happened to those bump stocks bought in the Obama years. The economy is busy right now, but the deficit is ballooning--the one area where a spendthrift Democratic House and Trump get along.

Hillary's foreign policy is much more Republican than Trump's. Yes I know, cue the wailing chorus about too many "RINO's" in the Senate. But Trump's fondness for dictators, either elected or not, hasn't really translated into real gains for the country.

Lyman if not mistaken, the citizens of the Commonwealth are looking at the possibility of Militia and Assault Weapons legislation. On the one hand, some Democrats are not wasting any time now that they finally have all branches of state government. On the other hand, if those bills don't become law, it will be as a result of some Democrats not supporting them.

This thread as I understand it, is a lament that the forum isn't ideologically pure enough. Kind of like a "Woman and Minorities Studies" class at UC-Berkeley, where only gender-neutral language is allowed in lecture and class discussion. Hint, guys: if it's silly there (and it is), then it's silly here too.
