    In fact, it seems this will paralyze government -- not that that would be bad.

        History shows that when a people lose the capacity to govern themselves, words on paper aren't going to save them. Greatest among the traits of self-governance (in my opinion) would be to follow the law even when it breaks against one's own side.

            Self governance, whether it be a man into himself or a shared effort of a community or nation, begins with self restraint.

              Bad guys are going to get guns anyways right? That's what I always hear. F&F was bungled no doubt but the idea was no different in principle than when they inject a patient with dye to check circulation.

                  Oh I agree, the whole op should have had a cleanup plan. But in terms of guns released into to the wild, it made no difference in the numbers overall. There are plenty of private gun flippers out there and no one worries about them.

                    private gun flippers?

                    if they are\were selling to the cartels, then someone will catch them,

                    point was, we (actually Holder and his plan) should not have been flipping them guns

                      That's my point -- they have not been able to make the taxpayer eat a billion and a half in student loan forgiveness, institute an unconstitutional tax on wealth and so on.

                        Unlicensed dealers--people who buy at retail and flip them in FTF sales at a markup.

                        Thomas Caldwell is one who got caught. After a Chicago PD Cmdr., Paul Bauer, was killed.

                          Of course not! If he was, he'd have to fully support the 2nd Amendment.

                                He got 3 years. Vernon would give Holder 20 years but give this guy a slap on the wrist, or better yet, abolish the BATFE altogether and give the guy a letter of apology.
