I think you may very well be right. We've now had formal impeachment hearings against 3 of the last 7 Presidents, two of whom were impeached and one who resigned. I don't think this is tenable going forward.

History shows that when a people lose the capacity to govern themselves, words on paper aren't going to save them. Greatest among the traits of self-governance (in my opinion) would be to follow the law even when it breaks against one's own side.

Self governance, whether it be a man into himself or a shared effort of a community or nation, begins with self restraint.

The difference being, of course, that Eric Holder really committed serious crimes -- one of those guns he walked across the border was used in an attack that killed a US Border Patrolman and another was used in a terrorist attack in France.

Oh I agree, the whole op should have had a cleanup plan. But in terms of guns released into to the wild, it made no difference in the numbers overall. There are plenty of private gun flippers out there and no one worries about them.

He got 3 years. Vernon would give Holder 20 years but give this guy a slap on the wrist, or better yet, abolish the BATFE altogether and give the guy a letter of apology.
