We know more than that. We know what tractors, farm implements, irrigation systems, and precision grading cost. There is a certain level of production, below which you cannot support all those things -- and the cost is reduced productivity.

However, I invite you to buy a 40-acre farm and prove me wrong by making a good living on it.

I would have given Obama the same as Trump, no crime no need for a trial. 15 years ago I backed a Registered Sexual Offender who the state was trying to ramrod him into a higher tier. As I told them, if society won't abide by the rules how can society expect them to abide by the rules. Contempt of Congress can put anyone in the docket if it is their way. Obama did similar things to Congress and the Republicans did not go to try him. Difference is that your Democrats have a blind, pathetic hate of what the man is doing and that galls them. Does it gall you, fess up now bro...soul search and tell the truth.

His point is that in pursuit of a subsidized productivity you're ignoring the negative impacts on rural life. Seems clear enough which is maybe why you're ignoring it?

You have just described the sum total of the policies of the modern Democratic Party. They have no program, no policies, no agenda, no vision beyond hatred of Trump. And that describes some of the people on this forum, too.

Who should decide that? If the small farmer decides to sell out, would you stop him? Perhaps put him in jail?

Would you drive food prices higher and higher, for the benefit of a handful of farmers?

Let me point out that I AM a farmer.
I think it is a balance that will be achieved, maybe thru gov't subs,, or market forces, or whatever,

there are some corporate farms here in VA, (including Smithfield)
as well as a lot of small and medium, and in the past 10-15 yrs, niche farms,

my Mothers side of the family is farmers, or most of them are\were, or in the business somehow,

Not according to many of the folks here,

A recent pander from Andrew Yang is about guaranteed money, and it seems like an eye roller,

And then we find out a Trump aligned group gives out envelopes of money at events.

So maybe we have reached duality in panders.

Free money isn't the same as free money? You do know it is proven that effective political messaging work at the subconscious right?

Added: and Yang only promises free money whereas Trump actually delivers it! So yes not the same you are right.
