Was he a smoker or is this just one of those things? I could see him enjoying a good cigar.

He was, once, a heavy cigarette smoker, and sometimes jokes about his "previously nicotine stained fingers" on the air, but gave them up a long time ago. He never quit smoking cigars though.

One of the insidious things about lung cancer in smokers is the symptoms of the disease are the same as the symptoms of smoking, at least until you start hacking up blood or something...leads to the disease often being diagnosed late.

I was driving up interstate 5 back in the mid 80's and heard Rush out of his Sacramento studio. I think it was 580 AM. I thought this guy was great. I didn't know who he was at the time and couldn't listen for long because he faded out. Maybe a year later when he went national I heard him again and said "that's the guy". Been listening ever since.

I thik Rich Zeoli could replace Rush. I like him better than all the fill-in's hes had over thee years.. Rich has a quick wit, knows politics, and can be very sarcastic, in an educational positive way... if that makes sense.. He come on from 6am to 9am Eastern time... on 1210 AM in my area i get it through Radio.com give him a listen, i don't think you'll be disappointed

You don't inhale with cigars as you do with cigs. Cigars more likely
to give you throat cancer - at least I would have thought - wrongly it would seem.

I agree with you completely about Rich Zeoli. My wife and I listen to him every morning. He has a tremendous understanding about politics, both regional and national. Best of all, he is one of the wittiest commentators I have ever heard on the air. A few days ago while talking about Elizabeth Warren, "America's Mother-in Law", he cracked some jokes about her that had me laughing till I thought my sides would split. If you live anywhere near the Philadelphia area you should try to listen to this guy. He is one of the best on the Conservative side.

He was 58, a truck driver and involved in an accident in his 18 wheeler. Company policy was he had to have a physical. Lung X.rays showed the cancer... they opened him up and the lung cancer had spread. They they sewed him up and he was dead within 60 days.

Anybody that hasn't seen the medical record or talked to Rush, his doctors, his brothers, etc. They all swear they have special knowledge they can't possible have. I'm sorry that anybody dies from cancer. On the other hand the JJ's are liars, cheats and American haters... They want the U.S. to be in a open civil war. They want to overthrow the Government, the Constitution, (including all of the Bill of Rights).

There will be a reckoning. Unfortunately the ignorant, brain washed, folks under 25 are stronger and healthier than our seniors and in a open conflict would likely prevail.
