What to do should the nightmare come true ...

Just suppose for arguments sake that Bernie wins the
2020 election. Supposing he actually manages to carry
out all of the preposterous campaign promises that he
made - how would you prepare, what could you do to
survive the horrendous taxes and price increases that
would soon follow for everyday necessities, electricity,
gas - shortages, and everything else ?
    Personally, I've absolutely no idea.

If you say it can't happen, then don't bother saying it.

I have been concerned about just that. If he gets the nomination the incentive for his little brown shirts will go up exponentially. But if he does I hope the GOP steps up to the plate (big if that) and fields some candidates in every race and actually tries to win. Novel concept to the Bob Dull wing of the party. We saw the R nominee for Guv' put more time and effort into knocking out his primary opponent than in fighting to keep Comrade Polis out.
If Comrade Bernie gets the nomination I think the GOP has its best chance to take both houses.

Bernie would do a lot of damage, but he lacks the talent to orchestrate a real disaster.

He would have to have a full load of AOC's in the house and senate to get any of his agenda passed. That I do not think it will ever happen.

I think they asked him to leave. For England, he presents himself as too pessimistic for a people known to be more realistic and pragmatic.

In short, someone has pissed in his Cheerios. Hey...that's a double pun!

Congress needs to get its mojo back. If that means allowing earmarks again, to lubricate the gears of legislation, then so be it. Staying deadlocked and leaving power in the hands of an imperial presidency and unelected judges is a bad long term strategy.

The country is full of ignorant, arrogant young people. If we're dumb enough to elect him, we're dumb enough to elect allies for him.
