Added: but worth pointing out that even with a robust system here, which does mess some people up, the GOP thinks it's not enough. It comes down to math: any new restriction in the name of ballot security with a good expectation of suppressing more Democrats than Republicans, if it can be made to sound reasonable and not inconvenience too may GOP voters, is fair game. The people pushing this stuff are very good at math, even if the public is not.

It sure does. Voter fraud has bone way down in Arkansas since we finally instituted the requirement for a picture ID.
