We will, of course, be expected to produce enough free vaccine for the rest of the world.
Not if they need my permission -- let the rest of the world pay for their own ticket.

Some state governors are forming regional agreements to coordinate distancing policy, recognizing the obvious truth in what you say. Filling as best they can the leadership void created by the endless mixed messaging at the Federal level.

            sounds like Medical NATO,

hope those outside the US that need a vaccine, pay up some $$ so we taxpayers don't have to foot the entire bill

Prediction: if a vaccine comes along that is worth distributing on a mass scale around the world, the countries of Europe and Asia will do as good a job or better at getting it to their people than us to our own.

The poor countries, China probably sees their vaccine needs as a PR opportunity where some tired members of the administration only see a burden.

Anyhow, Vernon's scenario of vaccinating our own while leaving the rest of the world to hang is fortunately as unlikely as it is short-sighted.

              However,

It wouldn't surprise me if his corner of Arkansas was among the last places nationwide to get a vaccine, just barely ahead of rez country (the ones without casinos).

Exactly right. Let them pay their fair share, and not suck on Uncle Sugar.

It is called sound public health policy. This is how, among other things, that small pox and polio were attacked. These actions helped accelerate herd immunity.
