Ah so the Dems win again...

They held up the economic stimulus bill until they could get their pork "chops," included.

The list is 22 pages long... and includes a salary increase for Congressmen, billions of dollars to African programs, millions for the JFK Arts Center, millions for NPR, millions for the National Endowment for the Humanities, millions for runaway youth programs, etc. None of these give away dollars are going to stimulate the economy and are intended to do one thing, and that isn't to help the economy or lessen the impact of the virus on the everyday hard working loyal American citizen... It's how you buy votes.

The only patform the dims have is their hatred for Trump. They have no party platform other than their incessant whining. Imagine if Hillary was President: "Don't bother me with this situation. They will either live or die anyway."

Red, send that shame money back so you can be the only honorable one left.

        Thanks.

Now, now, one of our resident liberals has assured us that if Hillary were president, the crisis would be over by now -- because, I suspect, everyone would be dead.

From the linked PDF, in the section on the Department of State:

Section 21012, which authorizes: the U.S. contribution to the 19th replenishment of the International
Development Association; the vote to approve the capital increase and amendment to the Articles of
Agreement of the International Finance Corporation; the vote to approve the 7th capital increase of the
African Development Bank, and the U.S. contribution to the 15th replenishment of the African Development
Fund; and the vote to expand the New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB) commitment and extend the NAB
until the expiration date of December 31, 2025.
Africa has a lot of raw materials and agricultural products that are valuable to our economy. We should leave Africa to the Russians and Chinese?

Red is right, Also lets not hear any more crap about trump dragging his feet on moving on the virus. This ploy of the Dem's used by delaying financial funds needed to help the people and country was as bad..

Also saying that Trump dragged his feet over and over is right out of the Dem playbook, find something to complaint about and keep beating the drum about it...

                    Sound familiar...Lol

We get a lot of raw materials and agriculture products from Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, etc... . According to your stupid arguments we should have sent the entire $2 trillion to other places, it is not needed here in the USA, right?

Burn your own straw men, Red.

                        And then tell me:

What's wrong with having a strategic vision for our relationship with the African continent? What could it possibly be about Africa that makes you regard it so negatively? What indeed?

Trump in a tweet described the bill as 90% good, but some guys (Red, perhaps others) react negatively anyways.

are those materials part of the remedy for the COVID/Beer flu?

if not, as in if the raw materials are not needed to make a vaccine etc, then should it not be addressed in a separate funding bill?

What's the purpose of the bill?

My answer is: provide some semblance of continuity to the economy as it lurches through this disruption.

Maybe you have a different answer, but there is mine.

So, given that there's lots of different pieces to the economy,

There's lots of pieces to the bill. Trump likes 90% of it, is willing to live with the other 10%. If he can do that, others should follow.

An Art Museum hires plumbers, HVAC guys, to keep going no different than a factory that makes work gloves, and is less likely to get moved to Mexico.

We get cacao from Africa, which right there should get the Boggs vote. Plus certain minerals and metals important to industry.

And then there are the Islamic Terror Groups that see a power vacuum in Africa as an opportunity.

Can't help but think that for some, there's something about Africa that really just rubs them the wrong way. Can't imagine what it could be, though.
