IIRC Sam did admit at one time that strong drink was not conducive to his leading of a civil life. So he opens that door.
Back when indoor smoking was allowed, I knew people who were vociferous against second hand smoke, who were themselves....former smokers.
(I've always regarded the stale mixture of cigarette smoke and spilled beer to be festive smell, of a beer garden, or ballpark, or picnic. But then I've never had the pleasure of waking up after a night of too many beers and cigarettes. My older brother, who did, said it isn't good.)Comment
