    EV batteries are not designed to be recycled apparently. I think hydrogen is the answer if you really are obsessed with getting away from fossil fuels.

      But once again, it costs more energy to produce the hydrogen than you gain.

        It depends on the battery type. Lithium can certainly be recovered, as can lead. Nickel based batteries, can't say.

          I knew a guy that was looking at some high mileage Toyota Prius,

          he said someone (cannot remember who) was making kits to replace cells in the battery,

          dealers etc want you to replace the entire bank, which is expensive, t the kits allowed you to just replace the dead ones, saving a load of $$$ and keep on keeping on with the prius
