Opinions are like noses ... everyone has one. However, not everyone is elected to the presidency of the United States of America. Mattis has not been elected to anything. President Trump ran and was elected in spite of everything the enemies of America could do to prevent it. Thankfully Trump has very effectively moved the federal judiciary and the SC away from the far left and back to the center. You haven't been watching CNN! Or any other of the "major news outlets." There's been a TOTAL blackout of Floyd's extensive criminal history. As an experiment, enter "Floyd criminal record" in CNN's search--NOTHING but coverage of the riots will be shown. Do the same on NY Post & you'll see what's being deliberately suppressed in order to justify the rioting. And before you accuse me of justifying his murder, I DON'T! CH we could try a nuanced conversation about when robbery becomes a capital offense. But really what's the point. You want shooting to start, and the fact that protesters and criminals will look the same through the gunsight doesn't bother you in the slightest. Declare a curfew and the the protestors ARE criminals and then the job of the police becomes simple--take down everything in their path.

Bruce is correct on his observations which I applaud. Is the general correct? The opinion depends on where one is standing at the time. Mattis was a command officer and is now a civilian with a mixed point of view. His adult life was in a dictatorship, this is what the military is where one takes gives and takes orders, to do otherwise is to bring grief down on one's head. This is the former general's opinion using a skewed pair of glasses. Also, one has to ask is the general grooming himself as a possible replacement for Biden?
