"We All Do Stupid Things At 17"

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-killings.html

Jr.'s description of Rittenhouse's evening, when he killed two people. I mean, it's accurate, up to a point, but shows that callous disregard for people that is a hallmark of the Trump mindset. It also makes us wonder what stupid sh*t Jr. did at that age....

What's wrong with having due process before reaching your own conclusion? And what's wrong with Trump saying that?

Maybe time to clean your display? Nobody said anything about denying the guy due process. And it's Jr. drawing conclusions, along with everyone who makes this kid out to be a hero.

You'll have to read it for yourself. Good for the brain, think of it like a crossword puzzle or word search.

Instead of posting the complete statue for us to read... just show us the section you feel relevant..

If you have to read the whole statute, you're doing reading wrong, Ray. It's not that hard.

I don't chew your food for you. If you can't read it that's on you. Hint: first 15 lines.

He can't -- if he could, he would have already.

No. It's because it's in the first paragraph. Good grief, if people can't read the statute and understand it then what business do they have forming and expressing opinions? If the language below is hard to understand, see your doctor immediately.

A person is privileged to threaten or intentionally use force against another for the purpose of preventing or terminating what the person reasonably believes to be an unlawful interference with his or her person by such other person. The actor may intentionally use only such force or threat thereof as the actor reasonably believes is necessary to prevent or terminate the interference. The actor may not intentionally use force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless the actor reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself.
Translated, punching a guy back is one thing, blowing his guts out is another under Wisconsin law. There are states where "I was scared so I started shooting" is a defense. Wisconsin is not one of them. And Wisconsin does have a castle doctrine law, but it does not apply in the middle of the street.

Moreover, the statute clearly defines such use of force as a privilege under the law, and explains where the privilege does not apply. For example, after the first shooting, as the kid was running away, other people may reasonably assume that he is an active shooter, and taking him down is a reasonable action for public safety. For those shootings he faces an added burden of asserting privilege. He had the option of dropping the weapon if he was taking himself out of the fight, but he chose not to do that. All in all a tragedy, this kid's life is not going to go in the direction he hoped it would go.
