She hung on and didn't retire even thought she was as ill as she was . I believe she stayed on. at least on the books, to prevent Trump from appointing a replacement. Didn't she make the remark that she wanted to stay on until after the election so a new replacement could be appointed? I'm sure hoping it wouldn't be Trump making the appointment. I don't think she liked Trump.....

That may have been in her mind but it probably wasn't the main reason she hung on. If she'd really wanted to guarantee a liberal replacement she would have retired in the last year of the Obama administration when she was already very ill. In fact the Dems made it known that they wanted her to clear the way for a younger replacement. Her main reason for staying on the court, from all appearances, was she did love the work.

What rule??? There is no such rule. At best it was an unspoken "gentleman's agreement." To have a "gentlemen's agreement" gentlemen who have some sense of honor have to agree to it. So how soon before an election should a President be able to appoint new judges, 6 months, 9 months, one year? Something people who mention Garland forget is Chuck Schumer said, with over a year and a half to go, until the election of 2008, that the Senate would not consider a George Bush nominee should a vacancy occur on the court. Is a year and a half too close? Do you really believe that the Dems would hold their fire if the situation was reversed??? To quote Joe Biden "Come on man!!" The AOC wing, which actually runs the Dem Party now has floated the idea of (1) abolishing the fillibuster for legislation, (2) admitting The District of Colombia and Puerto Rico to add four foolproof Democrat Senators, and (3) repealing the Judicial Act of 1869 which sets the number of Justices at 9 and replacing it with a law that will allow them to pack the court. One or all of them might be a step too far but that's the plan.

This close to an election it might be difficult to get a justice confirmed anyway. Trump would need 50 votes in the Senate. Collins has already said she's a "no" this close to the election. Mitt Romney hates Trump even more than most Democrats so he's a probable "no." Murkowski is "iffy" after that there is no room for error.

I hope Trump doesn't push for a replacement before the election. He would lose a huge campaign issue... "Do you, the voters, really want Biden to choose her replacement?"

This woman and her and her cronies has assented to 600,000 murders per year for the past 27 years.

If Black Lives Matter, why are 5 black babies aborted for every single white one?

Her brain was addled by cancer drugs. She ruined thousands of lives when she helped big corporations to stop union won medical benefits.

Right, the work of advancing a far-left agenda! And she ASSUMED, like most of the country, like ALL the political experts, that Bitch Hillary was a sure bet, a shoe-in, & wanted to have her replacement appointed by the "first woman President." After that, her all-consuming hatred of Trump almost beat the cancer!

"Didn't like"? Her consuming hatred of him demonstrates the power of hate to defeat, almost, even death itself.

Big Star Wars fan? Seriously, that seems to be your play (judging by your handle, and posts).

"What does it profit us to say anything bad"? To remind us that the war for everything we believe in GOES ON! The Dems understand this intuitively, which is why they & their ideology steadily advances, & we steadily submit to concession & retreat. Monuments to white heroes & accomplishments continue to be destroyed, & BLM tributes, murals, etc., put in their place; does that look like victory or defeat to you?
And what does attacking her cost us? It shows us as soreheads who can't even let an old lady rest in peace.

Let's move on and deal with LIVE enemies.

Most powerful force in human affairs! Has motivated thousands to strap on suicide vests & has kept the Palestinians fighting Israel for 75 yrs when they could have enjoyed peace & prosperity. Brought half a mil rage-consumed women to DC the day after Trump's inauguration, & millions more elsewhere in the country. History provides a million more examples. And more to the point, almost allowed Ginsberg to hold on long enough for a Dem Pres.

Forget what she tried her best to do to the 2A? Rest in peace when she's now a symbol to motivate Dems to fight with all their power to stop a Trump replacement?

Forgetting what your enemies tried to do to you is weakness which earns you nothing but DEFEAT. EVERY Dem understands that political fact instinctively, which is why they never give an inch, & which is why they now control the House, & very possibly the White House & Senate by next yr.

What part of "dead" don't you understand? Let us let her rest in peace and turn our attention to the living.
