By refusing to publicly acknowledge the sacred tradition of PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER as the bedrock principle of our self-governing republic, Trump disrespects the foundations of the country himself. RED can say anything he wants about ruining the country, but nothing will ruin it like a President that refuses to accept an election law, and a corrupt party that abets him. If the worst case scenario comes to pass, the real traitors are Trump, RED, and everyone else who goes along.
I hate to trivialize the seriousness of the situation with a sports analogy, but if pitchers decided they did not care if the umpire threw them out of the game or not, and proceeded to throw at each new batter, and bats came out of the dugout to be used as clubs, then the enterprise of a baseball game is lost. The point being that the rules can only be pushed so far before the common enterprise falls apart. But that feels like where we are now, that a Conservative movement that begin in the 1970's with idealism then turned to pragmatism, then cynicism, has now embraced fatalism. Get what is there to be had now, regardless of the future consequences.
