What kind of high paying jobs are available for someone with no education or skills? And just whose fault is it that a single parent has a house full of kids that they can't feed? They develop the mentality that it is someone's obligation to take care of their lack of initiative to do better.

NEWS FLASH !!!! People don't HAVE to go to prison. Those that do are there for a good reason and should be made to pay for their keep, rehab and whatever. As said many times before: "if prison life was made harder, like what we experienced in school, and terms were longer with no early paroles, the prison population would eventually shrink".

It's just way too easy for many type folks to just skate through life having not a care in the world or plan for the next day.

I am pro-life and the best form of birth control is self control. I like to quote the words of the late Jeff Bell, the GOP candidate for the Senate here in NJ in 1978. He said of the welfare system :

If you do, then you know some of the kids they encounter--low resource families, kids just don't get it together. Hard to learn if you don't have enough food, poor family structure, etc., from a young age. You've seen it. Well they don't stay kids forever. No amount of old guy rants about the current generation will change the reality that if people eff up bad enough, they become society's problem, one way or another. Ignoring that doesn't change the reality.

Most of the guys here are pretty old, have forgotten what it is to be in their 20's, feeling the rut a little bit, with a beautiful woman in their lives, or maybe just a willing woman. People f*ck without necessarily having a plan. It will always be so. The day a guy forgets that is IMO a sad day.

Before getting married in the Catholic church, they run you through some pre-marital classes. We got assigned to a young couple, she had one in the oven, and a toddler upstairs, making Natural Family Planning seem like a cool idea. I expressed as much to my fiance, who pointed out: you do realize they're trying to have kids, don't you?

Wow, some people never seem to get it. I guess that's why there's so many children that have to depend upon someone else due to their parents stupidity.

Yes, I have kids. My wife and I were married for 7 years before we had them. We both had decent jobs, insurance, a place to live, paid our bills and other such things that many today would consider foolish.

Sure, most of us in our sexual heyday would like to have entertained more but for some of us there were jobs to go to, classes to go to, courses to study for and many other responsible chores that came before a selfish, carefree act of sex.

Back to the rural kids in cheap rentals.... divorce is a source of economic hardship. Maybe the parents shouldn't get married. Maybe they shouldn't consummate the marriage. Maybe divorce should be banned? Sure let's ban child abuse too. Require permits to marry, to f*ck, to get permission to actually have a live birth.

The old saying...."Conservatives believe life begins at conception and ends at birth." Seeing that here in this thread. Once you're breathing oxygen, you better not cost the taxpayers money.
