    Another Socialist gets it Right

The article is good; Bill Mahr's dialogue is right on the money. If you don't read the article watch the video. Mahr describes perfectly why I simply will not vote Democrat for any office anymore.....ever.

To reference that Atlantic article that DT posted the link for earlier this week,

It's a battle between groups of elites, and some of them have ginned up a set of "conservative" arguments to attract ordinary folks to their cause.

Ol' Bill sees that and wishes his side would do the same thing.

But make no mistake, the ordinary people in such battles are just fodder. The real contest is between the elites, and they're the ones hoping for the spoils of victory--power, influence, wealth.

Things started going bad in the 1990s, with Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich.

Really, you really believe that politics has ever been anything except a contest between elites???? They may be well meaning but that's what it is, that's what it has always been. When a politician becomes successful, no matter what his background, he automatically becomes part of the elite. In some countries like this the regular schlubs still have a veto on the excesses of the elites.

You can't rule in this country if you can't win elections. Deliberately alienating and demeaning half of the country while just looking plain stupid doing it isn't the way to success, no matter which side of the elite equation you're on.

I could post a whole lot more stuff about the angst of the left over a bunch of guys who in many cases got picked last in P.E. or girls who couldn't get a date, many of whom actually hold no political office, now taking revenge by telling everybody else how to live their lives on the micro level.

Here's another one for you. Yeah its Russian Television but it isn't any less true.

Trump lost, but he got more actual votes than any Republican candidate in history and it was he, not the winner, Biden, who had the longer coat tails.

And what is the party of the elite, the Uber Rich?

Pull up a list of the 25 richest people in the US, and how many are Republicans? All of them? Half? 1/4th? 1/10th?

The Republican Elite shun Trump. They are the reason this election was even close. If Romney, and/or George W. had supported Trump, it would have been a landslide.

I used to say there are no pro gun Democrats.

Now, there is no such thing as a America loving, patriotic Democrat. They are only fools that watch and believe CNN’s propaganda, or haters that want the USA to collapse because they dislike Trump’s manners.

Well said, certainly in the "corridors of power."

            Art,

There were times when the competition between the elites was not as vicious, either because there was enough spoils to go around, or when an existential threat from outside enforced a common discipline. It's no coincidence that the current decline in intra-elite relations picked up speed right after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Well it's easy to look at the corrupt incompetents in the Trump administration and wonder how they are in it for anything but themselves. Peter Navarro, Wilbur Ross. Contrarian cranks that Trump pulled in for his Contrarian administration.

What do you get if you fill a room with Contrarians? A room that is 90% wrong about any subject you can imagine.

Amazing that a few clueless air head socialist democrats can get elected to the house and swing the entire democratic party into a headlong rush to the far left. Should the democrats get control of the senate, the U.S. will be a bloated version of Venezuela in four years if not sooner.

You were alive in 2016? The party of Trump has Republicans supporting seditious actions. It will interesting to watch the king in exile, continuing to abuse his staunchest supporters like a wife that doesn't leave after being beaten by her husband.

Your next worry isn't Trump, but the mentally unstable Biden. The socialist elite that will be running the country doesn't give a hoot about you and your quasi-socialist expectations. The country is being put into a downward spiral and you can't see it.

I don't have any socialist expectations. That's the problem with single loop learning, you have fallen into the propaganda trap.

I see everything, and it's difficult when people can't rationalize the grey in the world and are engaged in polarized thinking.
