As a practical matter to law enforcement, I wonder how important it is to know exactly what might be in the premises. I mean if they can know before an action they'll take it, but unexpected guns are always a possibility. And who doesn't have at least one credit card hit to Brownells, Midway or an online ammo seller in their CC history going back a few years.

Years ago one of the counselors and I got into a heated discussion regarding confiscation. When I asked him if cops should be disarmed he said, "definitely not!" and then I told him about getting the firearms. He looked aghast, got up from the table leaving his coffee and walked away! Arrows/bolts are nearly silent and very accurate. @ one time a Pope banned cross bows as "evil" in nature.

Exactly. All those who filled out that form are already Registered. The gun grabbers know where to find them.

Well, they know who bought the gun originally -- they don't know if it has been lost, sold, given away or stolen.

                  they are not registered,

simply shows who owned it at that time and date it was signed,

unless your state requires some type of registration,

If it's stolen or lost you have to report it. If you sold it or gave it away it had to go through FL dealer.
If you tell the cops you no longer have it, won't that invite a search or some kind of penalty ?
If things have deteriorated to the point of them knocking on your door, they'll be real serious.

                        What law says that?

What law says that? In state sales and gifts do not have to go through an FFL.

                        US Constitution, Amendment IV:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause"

If the Constitution is no longer in effect, things will be serious, indeed.

                              DT lives in Cali

they have some rather restrictive laws regarding person to person transfers,

PA and Va do to , but not to the same extent,

in Cali, if you are charged with something that causes you to loose your firearms, they will send a police group by to pick up your registered firearms,,,
