and prosecute cops vs retrain or redirect,

so cops are quitting,
crime is on the rise,

Defunding and cutting the police budget are not the same thing. The radicals don't want any police, not just fewer.

he had a discussion with the local Sheriff about crime, etc etc, in the area,

Local college students are doing the defund stand on one side of the court house and getting ignored. Tomorrow we are baking a bunch of cookies to take to my deputy friends. Come January they will hollow at me for them gaining a few pounds!
