Can you live without this forum?

During the surrender ceremonies after the Battle of Saratoga, the British regimental band played a popular song called “The World Turned Upside Down.” I say the same thing has happened on this forum when a fervent champion of the two most virulently anti-gun politicians ever to occupy the positions of POTUS & VP has been given a position of authority on this or any gun board. Needless to name him. Very nearly beyond belief…except that it happened!

Can those of you who chipped in to keep this board alive accept this incomprehensible slap in the face? I can’t, though giving it up will be no small sacrifice.

To my friends Lyman & Vern: this situation is a travesty & you KNOW it! It's not your doing I'm well aware, but highly disappointing you’ve been willing to accept it.

In the event, probably unlikely, this board returns to its roots, I’d appreciate being informed (clarencea@webtv.net), as otherwise I’ll never know about it, this being the end of my participation.

That was the surrender at Yorktown where The Brits played "The World Turned Upside Down."

Extra credit: Name the British general who surrendered and the American general to whom he surrendered.

As for "willing to accept it," what do you propose we do? Right now, we're working slowly and carefully trying to turn things around.

P.S. I'm betting that the "latest" moderator would pull me up for disparaging remarks to you ... even though I might have sided with him more times than I sided with you.

That's why he's there....and that's what America is all about.... right is right and wrong is wrong..... whatever side you're on

Be a shame if you quit.

Don't know what your limits of authority or powers are but if they aren't eliminated (by IP address) completely then you could delete some/most of their sarcastic and negative comments here for starters.

You and I have always been on the same side of the fence. As an administrator you may have to see things a little differently now but the longer this s**t goes on the more the Majors legacy erodes away.

You will have to agree that they are way too persistent and arrogant to not be on someones payroll wanting this site knocked down.

The inmates have taken over the asylum and are now prescribing the anti-psychotropic medications! One now must ask "Who is normal and who is not?"

My case for honoring the Major's legacy is active participation in rifle matches, research of DCM sales rifles, reading military history, and being a benefit to the collecting community at large.

                      Regards.

At Yorktown, General Charles O'Hara surrendered to General Benjamin Lincoln.

Cornwallis pled sickness and sent O'Hara to surrender in his place. O'Hara offered his sword first to Rochambeau, who directed him to Washington, who directed him to Lincoln, who was commanding the surrender ceremony.
