2) Presidents's Day did not do them any favors. Normally an operator books Friday gas on a Thursday, and Saturday, Sunday, Monday gas on a Friday. With President's Day, the gas markets weren't back on until Tuesday, meaning operators would have to buy gas on Friday for Tuesday delivery. With #1 above (wrong estimations about the supply stack), there were gas turbines on Tuesday that could have run but for the lack of scheduled gas deliveries.

again,, simple stuff, like calendars and weather reports, ( and now proper maintenance) may have prevented this being as bad

Cruz's kids go to a private K-12 academy, and word is that other parents want to make damn sure the school follows the mandatory 7-10 day quarantine policy after international travel that they set up earlier. That is, no special favors for Senators and their kids.

Also old quotes of Cruze ripping Cali for grid problems during wildfires have come to light. The guy really is a prick's prick isn't he. A middle finger from Texas to the other 49 states.
