Report: Unions, Dems to Rake in Billions From PRO Act
Unions could spend $3 billion on politics every election cycle


President Joe Biden and Democratic groups could see a surge in donations if they are able to pass landmark labor reforms that would force workers to pay union dues, according to a report.

The White House has made the PRO Act a centerpiece of its agenda in the opening days of the Biden administration. Biden has committed to being the "most pro-union president," but labor groups are not the only ones who will benefit from the elimination of right-to-work laws and collective bargaining reforms. Democratic candidates and liberal groups could see political and lobbying spending "increase to nearly $3 billion per two-year cycle," according to a report from the Institute for the American Worker.

I learned early on that wages and benefits are governed by whatever the local market can tolerate. Push too hard and you'll push yourself out of the way. Not many unions teach that to their members anymore.

So is Arkansas. They're trying to eliminate the states' power to pass right to work laws.

Arizona is a right to work state too. Which means a little slavery is OK. I worked for the Postal Service and we had several unions. My only experience with them. Good somewhat. We didn't have any six year old's pushing bins of mail. That was good. We had goofballs who should have been fired the first year but managed to screw off for 25. The think I always remember was the "memorandum of understanding" which(I'm no expert on this) meant we don't do things out here like they do in New York.

Are you saying that before the unions, there WERE 6-year olds pushing bins of mail? Got a picture you can post?

as JB said, market conditions, etc etc,

my brother was an IBEW electrician, left that work years ago but still pays his dues each year, and will get a good retirement out of it,
he was a CCWA member as an employee of Verizon, but that union sucks almost as bad as the UFCW so he dropped out,

we both know some guys in the trades that went to school and thru part of the apprenticeship process and dropped the union jobs to go to work for a non union company,
pay is not usually as good, but the jobs are more plentiful, for whatever reason,


most of the HVAC types in this area jump from place to place almost as much as waiters/ waitresses/ bar staff does in the restaurant trade,
