Going green is the only way! She was talking to troops about their heavy 20 pound batteries in their radios. She suggested instead for them to carry a solar panel. Yeah, that'll work on cloudy days, in dense triple canopy jungles, overcast cloudy days and heavy snowfall. She is as big of an a$$ than Biden! She meant it as a joke, but no one laughed!

She was speaking to a broader point about how climate change will affect both the mission of and equipment used by the military.

I don't think it was intended to be a rim shot.

There is a neat little blurb in the December 7, 1999 edition of the Office of Naval Research describing the love affair of the Marine Corps for its solar energy sources in Afghanistan. Specifically, power supplies are being stressed as equipment is becoming more energy intense. Batteries are becoming prohibitively heavy and bulky.

The Marine Corps and Army feel that renewable energy sources will save lives as easily targeted convoys hauling diesel fuel can be limited. Nothing here about green stuff, just good old logistics.

With all the gear they carry now anything that will lighten the load would be welcomed. But I can't see troops marching with 4 x 4 solar panels.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

68 ton tank on battery power? First order of business will be setting up charging stations on the battlefields.
