Specifically, power supplies are being stressed as equipment is becoming more energy intense. Batteries are becoming prohibitively heavy and bulky.

The Marine Corps and Army feel that renewable energy sources will save lives as easily targeted convoys hauling diesel fuel can be limited. Nothing here about green stuff, just good old logistics.
