Most of us are old enough to remember when the price of gas and the state and fed tax were posted on the top of the pump, most of the price was taxes now I would think that the taxes way over shadow the real cost of the gas alone.

Gas tax does make a difference. In California the average cost of a gallon of gas is $4.30 as of this morning. That includes an $.183 a gallon Federal tax and $.511 state tax for a total of 69.4 cents per gallon. Texas, on the other hand has a $.20 cent a gallon tax which together with the Fed. tax amounts to 38.3 cents a gallon. It does make a difference. California's expensive blending requirements and environmental restrictions for production of motor fuels also adds to the cost of fuel in the "Golden State."

Trump didn't do this Biden did. Barry's third term and turning Mr. Peanut into a good Prez. Gas and other fuel prices are "FAR" from peaked out just as food and other necessities are no where near at the bad end yet. Just give it a little more time and some more of the the last 6 months and you gonna see some real bad stuff going on. Even local governments are talking about big lay offs on the near horizon, small business destroyed under Biden/Barry and will never return they wiped them out but the favorites made tons of the money they pray to, it's truly sad. Another example of higher prices, I ordered bullets for reloading a couple days ago 1 dollar each bullet. Up in price in the last 6 months and by a bunch, yep Biden/Barry did it just as they have xxxxed up so much more since the pervert Biden was sworn in. The future of this country is at best Bleak and Balkanized.

The point of blaming Trump was to illustrate how mindless it is to blame a single office-holder, either Trump or Biden, for what is obviously a fluid and complex situation--a fact to which other posters have alluded.

It’s amazing how “fluid and complex” things are when it’s a democrat at the ground end of the lighting rod. Everything is plain and simple when a republican’s in charge , guilty on all counts!

There is a thread on why Biden is getting a free ride -- why not go to the horse's mouth and ask? We have people here on this site who have a knee jerk defense to everything Biden does.

Gas prices went up 3 cents more per gallon from yesterday to this morning, any bets on whether or not it goes up more by Friday? and the real driving season is not yet in full play. When the 300 extra dollars per stops and yes some states will stop it to try and encourage people to go back to work it's going to be even more interesting. Higher everything and less government hand outs will really start setting in and the crying will get louder and louder, more stimulus borrowed worthless dollars on the way and more inflation. You cant fix the leftist mind but you can turn it into little green wafers. Ya got to love them stupid people they are entertaining. Biden is begging the Saudis to pump more oil, what a moron. He kills the run and now wants to plant fish.

The shocking increase petered out the same day. But it might be back. There's OPEC and now OPEC Super. Some countries don't feel they are getting a fair shake. So to get attention they mess with output. To complicated. But does gas prices going up seem unlikely? All this is far removed from any one individual.

Might as well go to the other end of the horse for an answer. It would be the same crap.

Well if "blame Trump for everything" is dumb, then how is "blame Biden for everything" any different?

I was merely commenting on how “fluid and complex” problems become when the person beset is of your ilk. You don’t accord the same latitude to your political adversaries.
