Screw Pakistan. The lower east side of India. East side, west side, whatever. Let's sit back and let the chips fall where they may for the next fifty years. What is it about major countries that they think they have to rule the world? Was the dark ages all that bad? Some great research got done.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

As the dimocrats would say defending them: "some people did something".

Those neighboring countries did not mind seeing us do the heavy lifting. Maybe only Pakistan is glad to see us out of there.

          well, doubt it,

heard on the radio this morning that Paki is letting us use airspace but only if we get a permit 3 days in advance, and Iran has cut off airspace,

the Iranian bit is odd to me, since in the past we would have used it anyway ,, and destroyed any opposition

the big Fup here is the change in timetable,,

If the delay allowed the Taliban time to position their forces across all cities, then maybe.....but otherwise the problem was that the Afghan Army had no fight in it.

I suppose if we had just done a Japanese-withdrawal-from-the-Aleutians style operation in the spring, we wouldn't be getting this set of photos now,

but 6 months from now it will be the same story

a British report I heard on the drive in this morning was saying that it was not just the taliban causing a ruckus, and that the taliban itself was attempting to keep things in check, due to the fact that they did not want to bombed even further back in the stone age than they are now,

it also mentioned the air support had already been pulled, which was suggested to not be the thing to do,

Well, let's see, last week Biden said the Afgan govt had everything they needed to stop the Talaban, this week he says "they" didn't expect the Talaban to take over so quickly. So, which is it?

"THEY"sure got Joe out of town quickly, before he could open his mouth. Hope he doesn't run out of crayons and coloring books while he's at Camp David.

I blew up one of the pics of "refugees" on a C7...only saw 3 women and 4-5 kids. May have been more. The rest were young military age / Talaban agent men. All running away waiting for someone to take care of them.

What kind of men run away a leave their children, wives, mothers and sisters to the fate they already know? Why do we continue to save people that will not work to save themselves even if we equip them to do so? Israel is the only exception. We should give Israel any/everything they need and then buy all the oil they can pump.

A buddy told me of an Afghan girl, AFS student, who came to America for a year, about 10 years ago, and went back home with big dreams.

One can hope she got out, or didn't end up as some goat-herder's baby maker and nothing more.

They are not corrupted by materialism; different things hold value. Talk to people in any agrarian community here or elsewhere.

Nice thing about living out here is it rubs off on ya.

ZOOM! You missed it again. Nothing to do with propping up a government, but the moronic decision in the way it was done. Most everyone knew we need to withdraw, but not cut and run.

                            serious case of BDS

Biden could cure cancer and people would complain that he didn't cure all forms of it

Biden is being re-trained by his dog -- "You're sniffing the wrong end, Joe."

well if he cured Cancer,, that would imply he cured it all,

if he did not cure all cancer, and made that claim, would that not be a lie?

or just another politician's slip of the tongue that would need to be circled back to?
