The 95 pounds (up to 120 for the Marines) is a problem. It's causing a lot of orthopedic problems in addition to drastically reducing the soldier's mobility. A lot of the weight is armor and batteries. A soldier carries a lot of battery operated gear, in fact the average soldier has several dozen AA batteries at any time. There are attempts in the works to lighten up the armor, and to find a way to replace the batteries, but more needs to be done.

I don't understand it, but clearly it's part of natural science in some way. I don't practice celestial mechanics, but I know enough to accept it's part of life.

You're suggesting people to put themselves for a moment in someone else's shoes. But doing that, for some, defeats the whole point of being right in the first place. So they'll never do it, not in a million years.

anyhoo,, he\she IIRC, was working at UVA, and later moved out of state,
