If Trump should run and win in 2024 ...

he will have one just term presumably., so it would be extremely important
who his running mate would be.
I assume in 28 Trump will step down and the VP will inherit.
Am I correct ? Is this how it will work ? Who then would the new VP be
and how would he or she be chosen ? Would he/she then serve two terms ?
AND; who should Trump pick for his VP

The one term aspect of it is the thing. And not just presumably. Because if he and his army of winged monkey lawyers jigger some argument to give him a 3rd term, the whole enterprise is down the tubes. After that, anything goes! But you're right, he would try!!

Best outcomes then are that he doesn't run, or loses in the primary to someone who has at least a shred of respect for our systems of governance.

Whatever you do, don't use a black light on any of Trump's linens. In a word.....ewww!

                  likely correct on that,

I assume in 28 Trump will step down and the VP will inherit.
bold assumption given his ego, but guessing (assuming) if he did win, he may go as long as he could, but doesn't the constitution limit you to 2 terms,, regardless if they are back to back or not?
Am I correct ? Is this how it will work ?
                  maybe
Who then would the new VP be
no idea who would run or is even being considered, probably too early to guess

and how would he or she be chosen ?
the same way they always are,
meetings, backroom deals, background searched and vetted etc etc,
Would he/she then serve two terms ?
I think Trump can only have one more term,, per the quote above, so maybe if they run with the other candidate if that is true?
AND; who should Trump pick for his VP
would be easier to guess who will not be his pick

The Constitution does indeed limit the to two terms, consecutive or not.

Bill Clinton once suggested that the Constitution should be amended to allow more than two terms. His proposal was the two term limits back to back should be retained but a President (wonder who he had in mind) should be able to run again, even after consecutive terms if he skipped one.
