Whatever you choose to call that event was not intended to prevent the certification of the election by Pence. It was intended to and succeeded in preventing the vote to reject the certification of the results of a couple of states electoral votes. Same thing the 'Rats tried in '68 with Wallace and both elections of W. Only they didn't have enough muscle to do it then. In '20 the GOP might have caused a tremor.

Also Trump will need to do something about all of the Pelosi moles in his operation, because quite a few of those caught in the early roundups were very vocal MAGA hats online and in their communities.

The whole point is the attack on the 6th was NOT planned. It was NOT planned by Trump and his associates. It was NOT planned by Pelosi and Shumer. It was NOT planned period. One of the left wing organizations owned and operated by the National Socialist Democrat Party, (the FBI) made that clear back in August. News which should have been headlines in every one of the MSM outlets.Comment

The thing about Jan 6 was the day was on the schedule, the purpose and location known--to peacefully certify the transfer of power.
The call was put out from the White House to (pick a verb) rally, congregate, storm the location. Were there operational plans directed out of the White House? None brought to light so far. Were there cells trying to operate on specific violent agendas? Yes. Was there a coincidence of organizational blunders regarding site security, rendered all that much more amazing given the chatter coming out of the White House and picked up by Law Enforcement? Absolutely, yes.
Does Trump get a pass? Hell, no!!!Comment

funny thing is,
the media apparently got it all wrong,
it started as an insurrection lead by Trump, to overthrow the election, government, etc etc,
and then after 400+ folks were arrested for basically trespass, that suddenly it was not
the 5 dead due to Trump and his gang turned into 1 that was killed because she tried to go thru a door,
the Gov't agencies have already said there was not insurection
no peaceful protest aka riot,
just basically people being stupid
the Cop that was put up as the martyr was found to have died from Natural Causes, and the entire show around him was not appreciated (as in IIRC it pissed them off) by his family
so the Democrats blow it all out of proportion, with the help of the media, and some of the attention hoe's in office started talking about how much danger they were in,, when they were not even in the same building,
and folks wonder why no one believes any thing they print,,
also remember the big fences put up everywhere, NG deployed, all for what??? the cameras and media

Lyman why are you fixated on the media? Only reason I can think is that you want to use the fact that their picture evolves over time (as they try to sort the story out) to your advantage, so you can discredit their coverage altogether and insert your own preferred narrative, which is that it was NO BIG DEAL.
I have actually read very little media coverage. I didn't need to. What I saw from Trump, the GOP Senators in that chamber, told me everything I needed to know. One lives long enough and one learns how to read people.Comment

Lyman if I asked you to write a short paragraph describing as clearly as you can what happened on January 6 at the Capitol, I am confident you would refuse.
For whatever reason--and I have a hunch I know what it is--you are invested in keeping the events of January 6 in the category of UNKNOWABLE. And your endless media-conspiracy-drum-banging is a big part of that.
Of course there is bias in storytelling. This has been true since we were sheltering in caves, or since the first "collector grade rock" was sold by one cave man to another for a ridiculous number of fresh grubs. But if humans BS each other, humans also have the ability to cut through the BS.
Your drumbeat is that anyone who doesn't see it your way is a dupe of the media. But then you never explain what "your way" is, just like you won't describe the events of January 6 like I said.Comment

Lyman your response to any big event that looks bad for your side is always:
1. We will never know what really happened.
2. We can't trust the media.
3. The real story is probably nothing.
It works for you and you'll keep doing it but yes I do consider it kind of weak. That's my opinion and I'm not afraid to say it.
I'm still of the opinion that citizens should demand to get to the bottom of the sh*t, not look away. Used to be that way more.
