Easily answered. He was POTUS, I am an American citizen. It's that simple. We'd like him to do well in the job even if we think the odds are great against him doing so. You did not see me rooting for Trump to fail on the world stage. You did see me criticize him cozying up to dictators for what appeared to be his own personal benefit, or taking the easy way out when he bailed on the 2018 commemoration of the Great War because of a French rainstorm. Or trying to squeeze the Ukrainians for help against the guy he lost to, fair and square. But these are all fair game for criticism because he's making my country look bad in the eyes of the world. If bringing them up is trolling to you, then that speaks to a very thin skin.

Back to topic, Biden so far has done an admirable job of rallying countries whose alcohol you enjoy. Can you applaud him for that and if not then why not? Be careful there.
