Or maybe there's a record of your having been confined in a nut house for a spell ?
What else can they check and from where would they get the info ?

To get a CHL in Texas you have to be fingerprinted and have a DPS (State Police) and FBI record check. I don't know if the FBI does AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Information System) check on CHL applications, but the AFIS computer will kick out a hit on, for example, a partial thumb print. You can not hide from AFIS and I used to get results in a day. If you've ever been fingerprinted in the good old US of A you'll get an AFIS return.

Do they run AFIS on CHL applications? I have no idea. If they did they'd clear a lot of cases.

Red is right about straw purchasers, many, perhaps most gang member's guns are bought by girlfriends. How many young minority women do big city attorneys really want to lock up for straw purchases?

well, when was the last time you did a transfer or background check?

the Feds only know you bought a handgun, long gun, or other,
unless they come looking for the serial number at the dealer,, they do not know what you bought,


you have mentioned in the past you would like AR's to go NFA,

are you willing to submit all your semi auto's to the NFA registry, and do a form 4 on each? C&R or not?

you have called for NFA type AR rules in the past, and continue to do so,

the NFA branch was overwhelmed years ago when Silencers got hot, and are still a bit overwhelmed, even with contractors in place,

flooding the system with AR (btw, Colt AR's or any generic AR type maker,, since none call them AR-15's legally except Colt??) or any semi auto would make the system and it's delays last years,
