Slo Joe authorized the draw down from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve of up to 50 million barrels to be shipped overseas. One of the lucky recipients, China. The Bidens have always been thick with the Chinese, but this affects everyone in the U.S. A dirty family.

Whatever it takes to make money and cripple America.
As president, Bill Clinton essentially wiped out any strategic advantage the U.S. had by selling advanced missile technology to China.
Then there was obama who was in so tight with them that he had chinese labs develop what would become the covid-19 virus using U.S. taxpayer 3.7 million $ for funding.
China hated Trump because he wanted to balance trade with them, putting our people to work in manufacturing. -
The US government does not operate a fleet of tankers.
So if oil is being shipped to Chinese refineries, it is through US middlemen.
There's a word from the 70's that might get popular again: middleman, as in the guy in the middle of the supply chain who doesn't add value commensurate with his markup.
Also, it has been noted that US refiners are selling gasoline overseas. Do you think Biden has the executive authority to ban refined petroleum exports? If you say "yes" do you want him to use it?
Serious questions, not just grumbling. Have a go.Last edited by togor; 07-06-2022, 09:04.Comment

According to the democrats we don't need oil anyway. Don't pump it, don't refine it, and cause the price to rise to where no one wants or can buy it. Just sell it to others even if you have to give it away.
After all, the future is in electric vehicles. Never mind how the electricity is produced.Comment

Bonus points if you can actually quote a politician saying anything like that.According to the democrats we don't need oil anyway. Don't pump it, don't refine it, and cause the price to rise to where no one wants or can buy it. Just sell it to others even if you have to give it away.

Everyone knows we have to move on from petroleum as a fuel eventually, assuming our descendants continue with civilization. Only the fossils think nothing has to change.Comment

Take time to read and comprehend what the post said before replying. It is not about who or how it is being shipped. It's call STRATEGIC PETROLEUM RESERVE. It belongs to the U.S. people. What private business does has nothing to do with the SPR.The US government does not operate a fleet of tankers.

Call it whatever you want....
The government does not own the distribution channels into which that crude oil is released.
And oil is fungible.

You don't seem to understand the point either so more like preaching on any subject to you.

Johnny P yes or no:
You would restrict refined and unrefined petroleum exports from the US in order to create a local supply glut that reduces our prices (maybe) while raising prices elsewhere? Before you shout "yes" you've thought through the potential downsides, including market loss and retaliation???Comment

The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve is for emergency purposes for the security of the U.S., not to use as a temporary aid to lower gas prices (that he caused) and certainly not to sell, especially to hostile countries.
As least he didn't give it to the taliban. He's done so much for them already though.Comment

Oh goodness, Here we go again.
Stupidity gone to seed. No the U.S. government does not own the tankers or the distribution network. BUTTTT! They determine who buys it and they sell the oil to people that distribute their purchases overseas.
Quote: 3/19/ 2020 Department of Energy Executes On Direction Of President Trump, Announces Solicitation To Purchase Crude Oil For The SPR To Provide Relief To American Energy Industry.
Trump filled the SPR and now Biden is selling it to his buddies that trade with Hunters partners and if the truth was known they are pocketing millions.Comment

Can Red or JP answer how much refining capacity we have domestically vs the US economic fuel consumption?
They are so lightning focused on gas suddenly, they should know the answer.Last edited by Roadkingtrax; 07-06-2022, 03:55."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery.
