The problem with mail in ballots is the only thing that has your ID (real or not real) is the envelope. The ballot itself is just a plain ballot like you would get when voting in person. When opened the two are separated. People can request multiple ballots per household. No one checks, I've heard.
There may be limits but I've heard of people stuffing the envelopes with many ballots. Drop off boxes are the biggest issue. Like the mail-ins, this is where many of the dead and made up names vote----many times.
