I wish we had tons of "lease loan" type weapons to dole out instead of giving our best technology away. What will happen in the Ukraine? If they win will they resort back to their old ways of communism? If they lose Russia will end up with the newest arms supplied by us, the UK, Germany and France.

Either way, down the road, we may live to regret our choices if the weapons end up in the wrong hands like the taliban. I know we can't foresee that now but giving away our high tech stuff has brought much of the world up to our standards and lose of our edge. The difference is it didn't cost them anything. We invent it---they take it, steal it or copy it.

All of our hi tech stuff should have a means to be remotely destroyed in that case. This would have to be something such as a key locked remote maned by more than one person. I think it takes what, 3 keys, 3 key operators to launch a nuke missile? I donno but you wouldn't want to leave it in the hands of just a single person.

Aircraft, tanks, ships, subs, personnel carriers wouldn't have to blow up per se but at least be rendered inoperable or set on fire. On planes it could be a matter of frying the avionics. In any case the "charge" would have to be impregnated/engineered to where no one could remove it w/o disabling the vehicle or causing an explosion.

Other countries buying our equipment would have to accept this. As long as they remained an ally they would have nothing to be concerned over. Our own equipment used by us should have it too. You never know when someone is going to go berserk or become a spy.

Police use similar tactics now with the ability to disable baited cars when stolen. The doors can be locked and the engine shut down remotely while being driven/stolen.

Question. Not meaning to stir a turd or take sides but: Would it be so bad if Russia took over the Ukraine AGAIN? Since the separation both have remained much the same I believe. Right now it's a case of Russian's fighting former Russian's. A civil war? Are the Ukrainians better off now than before under the Russian rule or is this merely a case of one man (Zelenskyy) wanting power?

Putin has already annexed the Crimea, Ukraine's most valuable section of territory.

I can understand the Ukraine wanting to become an independent nation but sitting on a a land full of former Russian assets isn't the best place to start. I can also understand the world does not want Russia to expand but is this small piece of land worth pulling the world into WWIII which is quickly heading that way?

It's kind of messy. What I hear is that a lot of the people on the Russian border think of themselves as more Russian. But you can't germander whole regions to keep everyone content.

Reminds me of my telephone philosophy. An explosive charge should be in all American telephones that can't be removed. When a user is requested to "press one for English" pressing anything else will detonate the charge in the phone instantly blowing off the head of the user.

This would be a fine gift for those crashing our borders.
