Rape and murder are not rights. Murder by abortion is allowable now by laws of some states.

Point is our rights are stretching far from the original intentions of the Constitution but "technically" still abide by it.

And my point is, we should strictly abide by the Constitution. The Federal government has no Constitutional authority to make the rules in sports. So by the 10th Amendment, they should stay out and let the states handle it.

But they don't and won't. Few governors stand up to them because the feds will always find a way to get back perhaps by withholding disaster funds or shipping illegals to their state and so forth.

Also, again, the true meaning of the amendments is stretched but within the limits of being able to say it is abided by.

Then it's high time we started. If WE make excuses for violating the Constitution, how can we expect others to respect it?

We don't have the voice to make excuses.

Again, and using the 2nd as an example, if it comes to being allowed only one gun and having to pay $10,000 to register it the government could say that our rights have not been infringed because we still have the right to own a gun.

If it comes this, and over time this is about where things are heading, could we object? To whom? Vote the basta*ds out? What if there's no one better to vote for?

We're using our voices right now. And we need to use them in primary elections to select better candidates at every level.

People with the best idea's seldom run for political offices. We have to select the best of the evils.

Besides Reagan and Trump when was the last time you voted for a candidate that you actually wanted for president?

I know this is prez elections but it applies to all elections. You can't force someone to run that has good idea's. You select from those who do run.

Perfectly true. But that doesn't justify US disrespecting the Constitution.
