I am no friend of the Ruskies and I have to agree on Dogtags statement. There is thieving in war, that is a given. My question is how much we have sent was/is not going to it's taxpayer purpose. If nothing more was sent I would expect Ukraine to survive, perhaps make an "accommodation" with Putin. Half a loaf is better than none and Amecia should not be expected to continue to be the "free" armory of the world. Ukraine is in Europe's bailiwick, why not have them step up for the lion's share instead of us?

From day one my comments were yes let's help the Ukraine by giving them surplus and aging weapons and ammo, not money, and certainly not our latest and greatest technology.

Now, a very corrupt and non-Nato country has all we have to offer leaving us and our allies largely depleted. If and when we help Israel it will strain us to be able to defend our own country against the likes of China and/or Mexico. Our allies will not be able to help us much if any.

This is a what if question. Assume Trump gets elected and reinstates what Biden has changed. Then Trump gets other things going and America is back on the right track. His four years are up. Has anyone other than us at the bottom of the pile learned from these corrections/leadership. Will the next person elected from either party follow through with the progress Trump may make?

Well there is more to it then just helping Ukraine! From day one we were afraid to confront Russia because they had the bomb! But thinking about it, they may have the bomb but so do many of the NATO countries so it would be just suicide for them to use one. For us to back down now would be foolish! And from what I have read, Ukraine has taken some big steps to rid of the corruption as it wants to join NATO! The war is costing Russia big time and it is losing face as a super power as well as world reputation! My guess it that Russia will soon tire of supporting a loosing situation/war there and will eventually withdraw from the areas they took over! I'm sure the other countries in the area are hoping Ukraine will keep fighting and win as they are providing Ukraine with help!

As far as joining the UN what the Ukraine is doing now should be been done many years ago. They saw Georgia being taken back, then they lost the Crimea. Instead, they stayed corrupt, (2nd or 3rd most corrupt in Europe I believe I read), didn't want to spend the money to be a part of the UN if invited and now they have become so dependent upon our handouts that the people started complaining when the GOP wanted to cut $ (not weapons) going to them in the latest budget talks. We are supporting a dictator who wants to join NATO and in order to do so he must clean up and of his political and graft problem. I believe he has taken some steps to do so.
