He was 59 years old. It was a thyroid problem that morphed into a kidney failure that morphed into a heart failure. His mother died when she was 61.

Bottom line... these were good people. Only the good die young! If you want to live a long time... be an as-hole!

Sadly we lost our youngest son this past August; he was only 41 years old and died of complications related to the chemo-therapy he received for his leukemia diagnosis as a youngster. I suspect that there have been times when all of our wives have felt that way about us. Having said that, we celebrated our 53rd anniversary last week and she's stuck it out with me all this time so perhaps she's finally accepted my peculiarities (including my firearm's hobby)
