The MkIV and MkV rounds had what is casually called a Dum Dum bullet which was halted by the Hague Convention. The crimp is a 'stab' or 'jab' crimp which was a common method at the time.2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

The "Dum Dum" started with troop modification of the Mark II bullet.
The Mark IV was approved in Feb 1898 with a 215 gr cupro nickel envelope around a hollow point pure lead bullet at 2000 fps
The Mark V was approved in Oct 1899 and again during 1903/04 also with a 215 cupro nickel envelope around a hollow point
bullet but with an alloy mix to the lead, also at 2000 fps
Both the Mark IV and Mark V cartridges in my photo were manufactured in CanadaComment

Thanks much on the Cubs. Been waiting a very long time!
I'm not a cartridge collector but I'll give it a sporting go. Recalling rifles and what they were chambered for. This is where you leave me in the dust...OK?
1. 577-450 foiled
2. Early 303
3. .276 (Pattern 13 rifle)
4. 303 ball
5. The original 4mm SA80 round?
6. 280 for the SLEM?
7.
I don't know. You can see I'm guessing.

HA! I was on paper with the first five then flinched the easy ones off into the sunset!
I had to look to see when the Braves played the Twins. That was 1991, so the best in 25 years not counting a few really good ones in between.
I'm still halfway in between dreamland and a state of disbelief. Didn't think I'd live long enough to see it.2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!
