    Now this just in:

2000 cans of Miller Lite destroyed. Not that 2000 cans is very much. For years Miller has used the slogan "Champagne of Bottled Beers". In France they lay claim on the term "champagne". If not for this I suppose they would fuss about the term "bottled beer" being in a can.

The guardians of Champagne will let no one take the name of the bubbly beverage in vain, not even a U.S. beer behemoth. For years, Miller High Life has used the “Champagne of Beers” slogan. At the request of the trade body defending the interests of houses and growers of the northeastern French sparkling wine, Belgian customs crushed more than 2,000 cans of Miller High Life advertised as such.

        That's eerily profound, DD.

Don't scare me like that. You know I don't react well to compliments.

Imma side-step this whole beer thing.
canoe, bottles/cans, %, men wearing dresses and drinking in the bathtub. There are other things in life.

I have tequila and hard cider. I'll get through this.

They're not getting paid for wearing them while drinking beer in the bathtub as part of a nationwide sales campaign.
              They get a pass.

that is not a dress, and ever had Scottish beer? it is far far from a Canoe Beer,

                  meanwhile, from the article

The 27-nation bloc has a system of protected geographical designations created to guarantee the true origin and quality of artisanal food, wine and spirits, and protect them from imitation. That market is worth nearly 75 billion euros ($87 billion) annually ? half of it in wines, according to a 2020 study by the EU's executive arm.
these guys don't fuk around, they are very protective of the regional products,
                  Champagne made in Champagne,
Prosecco and Italian wines are segmented

dittos some Cava (Spanish sparkling) Burgundy's etc,

and related, of sorts, since the beer was seized in Belgium

Deus, which is a fine ale, is more like the Champagne of Beers

Belgium- Biere de Champagne- 11.5% ABV. DeuS is a beautiful, brilliant-golden coloured ale first brewed at Bosteels, Belgium and then transfered to the Champagne region of France where it is matured like a champagne with the bottles inverted and the yeast expunged and bottle recorked

Indeed not, McEwans is (was) good stuff if you can find it!
Pouring a Black & tan over a spoon is a horrible New World abomination! They even make special bent spoons for it.
When we interviewed for new bar help at "The Good Intent", we'd have them pour a Black & tan. If they could do it they might be hired.
The real trick is "You pour the dark bit through the light bit"!

Slowly pour the Bass down the side of the sharply angled glass to whet the side without raising too much of a head, that will come later. bring the glass back towards vertical as the level rises, but just enough that the top doesn't spill over. Stop when 1/2 full.
Next re-tilt the glass so the top of the Bass is just lapping at the rim, now pour the Guinness slowly into the bass right at the edge where it touches the glass.
As the level rises bring the glass back to upright in such a way the top pf the head is at the top lip of the glass.
Then just sit back & let the head form as the foam sinks to the bottom!

you know Guinness actually sells the spoons that you show?

I know, cause I have one,

                        that I bought from Guinness

been a while since I had one, guess I need to find some Bass Ale,

There's something about doing it right!
No need for a spoon when you know the trick.

Guinness did a marketing thing years ago,
I don't recall what I paid, not much, but I got 2 imperial pint glasses, with the Guinness logo, and that dreaded sppon
used it once or 3 times,

after that,, just mixed them ,

blasphemous, I know, but it still tastes good,

never did care much for the cider/ Guinness combo (Snakebite)

Never tried an Irish Car Bomb, but always wanted to. If I remember right it was composed of Guinness, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Jameson Whisky. I think the Jameson was added last.
